I do remember a case in an industry located in Spain, they needs were to melt plastic through a press. Our technical department proposal was to install a 60kw electric thermal oil boiler for each press; they have 10 presses in total.

Finally this industry rejected our proposal; the electric boilers price was the determinant factor. Two years later I was informed that the boilers were cracking the oil, blocking pipes and heating coils. The maintenance costs was higher than they expected, in order to keep the process going they had to stop producing to clean pipes, heating coils even buy new valves and recirculation pumps each year.

Their supplier recommended for each press 150kw electric thermal oil boiler due to the boilers efficiency.

Our proposal was 60kw electric thermal oil boiler due to our technology and high efficiency. Our electric thermal oil boiler does not crack the oil, maintaining the oil properties as a lubricant for all its life.

As you see this industry was forced to install 1500kw instead of 600kw, wasting 5,400€ for power term, in Spain the energy companies charge 6€ per each kWh.

About other installations, the energy used is fuel and they are obliged to install a fuel tank, pumps, burners, chimneys and fire/explosions security systems.

The electric boiler manufactured by ETE only requires electric installation and hydraulic connections.

Heat a hothouse located in UAE

The agrarian hothouse’s production has been extended around the world and in the deserts with long solar hours are good places to produce food with low costs.

During the day the sun heat activate the production, the hothouse receives the radiation maintaining the right temperature for the seedsElectric boilers growing.

During the night it is necessary to give heat to compensate the heat lost.

Our technical department has calculated and designed the suitable electric boiler to produce heat for a hothouse in the UAE.

The electric boiler is given service to a 2 hothouses of 20.000 square meters each one and 4,5 meters ceiling height.

The indoor temperature required is 18ºC when the outdoor temperatures reach 4ºC.

The electric boiler designed by ETE is the model GP 1720/30 – 2000kw – 400 V III.

It has been planned that the boiler works with a 15ºC temperature increase (75ºC /90ºC).

The hothouses should thoroughly revise the heating production and change the old boilers for ETE electric boilers to reduce the energy cost in at least a 60%.

How to calculate the power for heating

If you want to calculate the necessary power to heat your home, in this article you will find the formula. You will realize if your installation has been over dimensioned.

When a heating installation is over dimensioned this cost increase unnecessarily.

The formula to calculate your heating installation is as follows:electric boilers

We use a coefficient for it: 30

1.- Define the square meters that you want to heat (do not include garage, box room or other space that is not necessary to heat).

2.- Ceiling height

3.- Minimum outside temperature (during winter -3ºC average).  If this average is more the coefficient has to be reduce and otherwise. For example:

Minimum outside temperature: -3ºC ….coefficient 30

Minimum outside temperature: -8ºC ….coefficient 35

Minimum outside temperature: 5ºC ….coefficient 22

The following step is multiply the square meters by the ceiling height, and then you will get the cubic meters.

The heat necessities for 100 square meters home with 2,5 meters ceiling height and a -3ºC minimum outside temperature is 7500W. We consider this power has a 30% security margin in case the home does not have a good isolation.

As I just told the isolation is an important factor like as the doors and windows do not let the heat escape through it.

But, what is a good thermal isolation? It is when in summer the room temperature does not increase more than 25ºC during the day with an external temperature of 35ºC or more.
